Index
The Siberian Husky, as its name suggests, is native to Eastern Siberia, where the Chukchi (an indigenous Russian people) used it as a sled dog. It is not dangerous, since it is very friendly with everyone and for this same reason it could not be used as a guard dog. However, it is very independent and a large predator. It is known for its enormous resistance and beautiful appearance. They are athletic and enjoy being around other Huskies rather than being alone. The Siberian Husky is not the best choice for first-time owners, but in the right hands and living with people who are familiar with the breed and therefore know how to train and handle them, they thrive in a family environment, making them a good option as a life partner.

Origin and history of the Husky
Huskies are known to be one of the oldest breeds on the planet, and over time, the breed has not changed from the dogs seen in the 19th century. In those days, the Chukchis used Siberian huskies as sled dogs and treated them very well. It is known that the Chukchis are responsible for the creation of the breed, since they were looking for dogs capable of pulling sleds, hunting and at the same time playing with children. They depended on each other to survive in often extremely harsh conditions.
Siberian Huskies were first seen in Alaska in the early 20th century and were still called Chuckchis at that time. Because these dogs proved to be incredibly fast in sled racing, which was a very popular sport during this period, they were soon brought to compete in the United States, where they were renamed "Siberian Huskies." The breed was officially recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1930.

Character ofthe Husky
The Siberian Husky loves to be around people and enjoy their company. However, it also has a strong prey drive, so you have to be careful of a Husky around small animals and pets. They are not the best choice for first-time owners, as they must be handled and trained by people who are familiar with the breed.
They are known for howling for no reason, so they can be very loud. They need a lot of mental stimulation and exercise to be completely happy. They also suffer from separation anxiety, so if a husky is left alone for a long time, he will soon become bored and develop some unwanted behavioral problems, such as excessive howling and destructive behavior in the home.
Huskies are athletic and agile, which means they are also very good escape artists. For this reason, the garden must be very well secured with a strong and high fence to prevent them from jumping or digging to get out.
Curiosities about the Husky
The characteristic blue eyes for which they have gained popularity are not "mandatory" in this breed and do not increase the value of the specimen at all.
Some dogs have heterochromia, that is, dogs with two-color eyes.
