Origin and history of the Golden retriever

Originally from Great Britain, little is known about the history of the Golden Retriever, other than it was not officially recognized until 1931. All we know are legends; The most popular story is that these charming "golden" dogs arose thanks to Lord Tweedmouth, who set out to produce a hunting dog capable of retrieving game in the water and in the swamps.

It is said that the ancestors of Golden Retrievers were first seen when they performed in a Russian circus and that Lord Tweedmouth liked their appearance so much that he bought the dogs and took them to his estate in Scotland, where he used them to hunt deer and other game animals and that with each cross he kept only those that had a golden coat to establish this trait.

Character ofthe Golden retriever

Golden Retrievers are confident, kind, and affectionate, which is why they have become one of the top choices for family pets around the world. They are not known for being the best watchdogs simply because they are too friendly and a Golden Retriever rarely shows any type of aggression towards people or other animals, plus they do not bark often.

They are very intelligent, easy to train and love to work, whether in a home environment as working dogs or in the field. However, they are more relaxed than Border Collies and also like to relax.

The golden retriever has a gentle, intelligent and affectionate temperament. They are playful, docile with children, and tend to get along well with other pets and strangers.
