The Bull terrier is characterized by its particular physical appearance, its head is shaped like an egg. It is a dog with a vigorous constitution, muscular and full of energy, however, these characteristics do not make it a dangerous animal. He is determined, intelligent, affectionate and extremely faithful to his people. The ideal family for a Bull Terrier should have experience with dogs, be active and dedicate quality time to them.
There are no height or weight limits for them, but that said, their size should always be in line with the breed and whether the dog is female or male. Their training should start early as they are stubborn and easily distracted. They must be socialized from puppies so that they grow into happy and balanced dogs.

Origin and history of the Bull terrier
James Hink is considered the father of the breed. Obtained by crossing a bulldog with a terrier, this included the White English Terrier and its ultimate goal was to create a "gentleman's companion." It is also believed that Hinks may have used Dalmatians and other breeds to create the dogs we see today. However, it was his grandson James Jr. who first introduced the “Roman nose” to the breed, which is now one of its characteristic features.
The breed was first exhibited, in its current form, in Birmingham in 1862. By contrast, the miniature bull terrier has been around as long as the standard variety, only it was not recognized as such until 1939.
Hinks preferred "white" dogs which soon became popular and only white coats were allowed in the official standard. Any colored Bull Terrier was considered a "different" type of dog. However, in the early 20th century, more breeders began making efforts to breed colored dogs, leading to them being accepted as a single type and breed.

Character ofthe Bull terrier
The bull terrier is a dog with a strong temperament and they can be very stubborn, but they are friendly and very fun. They are very affectionate and love company, so it is not advisable to leave them alone for too long as they could wreak havoc if they get bored. They have a strong territorial instinct and do well as a guard dog.
It is considered a balanced dog and lover of children, but you will have to be careful with small children, since they can be somewhat rough when playing and due to their strength and roughness, they could inadvertently hurt them.
Over the years, responsible Bull Terrier breeders have developed through careful selective breeding a wonderful dog as a family pet and companion. Their physical constitution makes them appear fierce, but they are kind and friendly. If they are socialized from an early age, they can coexist with other pets peacefully. That said, male Bull Terriers might instigate a fight, something owners should keep in mind when walking their dog, but that will really depend on the dog and how well it has been socialized.
On the other hand, it is true that they are calm but they also need to receive the appropriate amount of mental stimulation and daily exercise to be truly happy, so they are ideal for families who have time and like to do outdoor activities.
Curiosities about the Bull terrier
Many think that it is an aggressive dog, but nothing is further from the truth. Bull terriers are affectionate, fun and very loyal.
Over the years they are likely to suffer from canine dissociative syndrome. This disease is similar to human schizophrenia, where the dog may suffer from violent or paranoid episodes.
